Our misadventures

We didn't make it to Tolland without some excitement, however.

First, we developed a flat tire in the very center of Pennsylvania, the town of Snow Shoe. It wasn't snowing, however, but pouring with rain. Here's a picture of the nail that was in our tire!:

Then, at 5.15am on our first night in Tolland we discovered we were without running water. On the floor of the basement we found all the running water:

Here's the tank that had rusted through, causing the flood:

Luckily, thanks to a kindly plumber willing to come out on a Saturday morning, and the fact that public showers were available near the beach at Tolland we were able to get to Mollie and Jim's both clean and with a functioning house to return to.
