Hi everyone,

Welcome to our blog, in which we track the progress of our (at first) forthcoming baby. We don't know the baby's name or sex yet, but it's useful to be able to refer to it as something other than "it" -- so it's currently being called "Aethelbert or Myrtilla," these being our current favourites from the baby names book.* If the thought of reading someone's baby blog makes you feel like you're being given too much information, or fills you with rage at the thought of how smugly self-absorbed we must be, don't worry -- we won't be offended if you don't read. This whole thing is really aimed at people who are already predisposed to be interested -- grandparents, inquisitive friends and the like. So, on the other hand, if the thought of seeing ultrasound images of little A-or-M, keeping week-by-week tabs on the size of Elizabeth's bump, etc., gives you a feeling of joy, then hooray! You've come to the right place!
